Lesson 1

Lesson 1
Proudly introducing today's teacher:

Mr. Blow-dryer

No, I am not completely crazy. I just think that sometimes you have to delegate.

I can't do everything by myself. I have a job, you know. Two jobs, actually. And a wife. And three kids. That's why I can't do all the teaching. I think Mr. Blow-Dryer is going to do just fine. Bye! Andrzej.

Hello, my name is Blowie. David Blowie. I am a hairdryer. What do I do? Most of the time I stay in the bathroom and wait for someone to wet their hair. Sometimes I get to dry socks or other small pieces of clothing, but don't tell anyone I've told you that.

Today, we are going to learn a few useful expressions with the word blow. Ready? Hair we go...

Pewnie chcecie zebym Wam udowodnil. Oto kilka ciekawych zwrotow, ktore ubogaca Wasze juz przeciez bogate slownictwo:

- to blow it

- Frank, why aren't you entering the data like I showed you to?
- Because I am afraid I am going to blow it.

- to blow (one's) mind

- It just blows my mind how much money this government has wasted in the last 5 years!

- to blow the whistle (on someone)

- In the movie "Insider", Russell Crowe plays a tobacco firm executive who blows the whistle on his bosses' evil practices.

- to blow off steam

- Donna needs to learn how to blow off steam. She is like a walking time bomb.
